Catalina de erauso lieutenant nun5/22/2023 ![]() ![]() There, I holed up for three days, planning and re-planning and cutting myself out a suit of clothes. I struck out, in what direction I cannot say, and came upon a chestnut grove just beyond the walls, on the outskirts of the convent grounds. I went opening doors and closing them carefully behind me, and when I came to the last one I shook off my veil and went out into a street I had never seen, without any idea which way to turn, or where I might be going. I took a pair of scissors and a needle and thread, I took some of the pieces of eight that were lying there, and the keys to the convent, and I left. She touched her hand to my forehead and said, “Go on, go to bed.” I left the choir, took up a lamp and returned to my aunt’s cell. ![]() The nuns were singing the psalms in a mournful tone, and when they got to the first lesson I went to my aunt and asked to be excused, telling her I was sick. ![]() Alien foster5/22/2023 ![]() ![]() He has also novelized Star Wars movies as well as such well-known films as Alien and its two sequels. It is the third and final film in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. With the help of Anakin Skywalker, who had recently turned to the dark side, Palpatine’s plan was essentially fool-proof, mainly because all the remaining Jedi were scattered across the galaxy and therefore vulnerable. Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith is a 2005 film written and directed by George Lucas. However, Order 66 was laid out years in advance, dating back to the events of Star Wars Episode I-The Phantom Menace. The point of Order 66 was to allow Palpatine to rise in power and finally have the Sith take control of the galaxy. The few Jedi to survive were hunted across the galaxy by Darth Vader and his Inquisitors. Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith is a 2005 film written and directed by George Lucas. Order 66 is best viewed as Palpatine's masterstroke, a single act of treachery that left the Jedi all but extinct. Revenge of the Sith is the movie that will connect the effervescent original Star Wars trilogy of the late 1970s and early 80s to the latter, denser installments that began six years ago with. ![]() The Clone Wars were the perfect Jedi trap, deliberately engineered by Palpatine as a no-win scenario for the Jedi. Order 66 was the climax of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, and naturally the franchise has continued to develop it substantially since the movie's release. ![]() ![]() ![]() He can be fairly dense in his take on the subject matter. I'll note that you may find yourself re-reading soem passages. I'd recommend checking this book out if you're interested in sex magic. Throughout that exploration he weaves in his own thoughts and perceptions about the metaphysics of sexual love in a manner which clearly shows his stance as well as his arguments against other perspectives. ![]() I think to some degree his belief in fascist ideology also comes through, but not to a large degree.Įvola does a fairly in-depth exploration of the metaphysics of love via a variety of fields, including psychology, Platonic and neo-platonic thoughts on love, as well as some of the occult perspectives on sex magic, including references to Crowley and Randolph's works. My main knee jerking with this book has a lot to do with Evola's depiction of women and also his stance on polarity when it comes to sex magic. At the same time, this book mainly stayed in the theoretical and philosophical domains of the metaphysicals of sexual love, as opposed to focusing on the concept on any practical level. I found this book fascinating to read, in part because I had to monitor my own reactions to some of his statements, and in part because as always Evola does such a thorough job of supporting his arguments that even when I disagree with him, I'm also filled with a sense of acknowledgment toward the work he was clearly doing. ![]() Let me in lindqvist5/21/2023 ![]() Yes, some cited redundancies between the two horror films, but seeing an eerie tale of loneliness reach a wider audience - without the original’s core complexities dumbed down or cheapened - proved more significant than any overlap. ![]() ![]() The book that started it all, John Ajvide Lindqvist’s 2004 novel, became a bestseller before the author worked with Tomas Alfredson to create what Roger Ebert later called “the best modern vampire movie.” Then Matt Reeves came along with the inevitable American remake, and even 2010’s “Let Me In” earned rave reviews. Like a vampire impervious to exposure, “ Let the Right One In” is one of very few stories to not just survive multiple adaptations, but thrive with each new iteration. ![]() Raising the Dead by Andy Dougan5/21/2023 ![]() For three months, abandon any book that hasnt grabbed me by page 75 Reach a total of 150 on the 1,001 Book You Must Read Before You Die list Booking Through Thursday: The Best Book You’ve Nev.Blog Improvement Project: Task 5 (and 4.1).Personal Bible Reading Challenge: Genesis, Exodus.Book Review: Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas.Book Review: No More Dying Then by Ruth Rendell.Book Review: The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry.Book Review: Cider With Rosie by Laurie Lee.Book Review: The Suspicions of Mr Whicher by Kate.Booking Through Thursday: Movie Potential.Book Review: Raising the Dead by Andy Dougan.Book Review: Slammerkin by Emma Donoghue.Historical Fiction Reading Challenge Wrap-Up. ![]()
